Our History

Lloyd Piggott was founded over 100 years ago. We take pride in our heritage as we are one of the longest established independent firms of accountants in the centre of Manchester.

We have both a city centre office and an office in Poynton, South Manchester.

Our Team

We have a very strong team of experienced and qualified partners and staff who all work hard to deliver an efficient and personal service to all of our clients.

You will always find our staff helpful and friendly whilst maintaining a professional outlook.

It is our aim to take away the stresses and strains that accountancy and taxation can cause you in your personal and business lives.

Partners Profile

Gary Dodds
Gary first joined the firm in 1975 becoming a partner in 1987. He has been senior partner in the practice since 2004.

“In business no one can stand still and we as a firm are always looking to progress. We apply this outlook to our clients and wherever possible we are proactive. This means I can be heavily involved in assisting businesses, virtually acting as a finance director. I have experience with all business types including manufacturing and engineering, property and service companies. I am also involved in the entertainment and charity sectors.

As a pastime I enjoy a game of golf with friends and clients, as many can testify. I spend as much time with my family as possible, watching my daughter dance and my son play football”

Sue Redmond
Sue joined the practice in 1994 qualifying the following year. She then worked her way through the firm becoming a partner in 2001.

“In addition to my client work I also manage the Manchester office and so am familiar with the challenges of running a business! As well as a busy portfolio of audit clients I have a particular interest in the creative sector, consultants and property/construction.

I am a busy working mum but still find the time to regularly escape to the Lake District with my family and friends.”

 

Paula Abbott
Paula joined the practice in 1991 becoming an associate in 2001 and was made a partner in 2008. Paula has worked in tax for 25 years. She aims to assist clients in arranging their affairs efficiently so that they only pay the tax they are legally obliged to.

Paula has a wealth of tax knowledge to assist clients in compliance issues and tax planning.

“In this current economic climate it is more important than ever to explore all possible tax planning opportunities. With the assistance of the other members of my tax department we always try to offer sound advice to our clients and look for ways in which they can maximise their wealth.

In addition to my tax planning work I also head our Musician and Entertainment department as we act for over 200 clients in this particular sector.

I like to relax at home with my husband and daughter and the three of us love to go on holiday, to spend some quality time together, whenever we can.”
